Red Pool

An indoor pool. Where one would expect to see windows, there are only concrete walls. A small cabinet room nearby contains 16 swimsuits, which seem to fit the cast perfectly. The pool is cold and relaxing...besides the unusual red color. You can only assume it's dye, as it smells, feels, and tastes like water...you really, really hope it's water.

Stranger: "...Still nothing new?" Stranger asks. The two of them have been looking for a while now...but no luck. Nothing else important had popped up...

Arsenic: ...But still, Arsenic seemed to be in deep thought.

Stranger: "Eh? Something up?"

Arsenic: "...Actually, it's about Jasper. There's something about him that feels important to this case."

Arsenic: Turning to face the body, she points at the horns on his head and the shape of his tail.

"I have experience with protas with these features...those types of horns and tail is a sign of element attunement."

Stranger: "Really!?" He tilts his head. "...Even so, what the hell does that have to do with the case? And why did he never tell anyone about it?"

Arsenic: "If he was some dopey software programmer, I doubt he ever used it. He probably didn't think it was important enough to mention...but in a moment of self-defense, you have to do anything to survive."

Stranger: "...Mhm. Do you know what type of elemental attunement, too?"

Arsenic: "Judging by the tail shape, I'm thinking something involving crystals. Growing 'em, throwing 'em, stuff like that...probably wasn't the strongest considering he ended up the way he did, but I bet it could still cause some damage."

Stranger: Nod nod.

"...So that's it then? No more evidence...this is all we have?"

Arsenic: "This and anything the others found, yeah."

Stranger: "...Hm."

The fire in his eyes once again fades. Those dull pupils of his stretch again, till trying to shake off the wetness from swimming in that dumb red pool...

"...I guess all we can do is meet up with everyone who was searching around, and then go to sleep."

Arsenic: "..."

She shuffles uncomfortably.

"...I don't know if I can sleep tonight."

Stranger: "Me neither." He replies.

"But if we want to avenge him..." His eyes gaze back to the floating body of Jasper, "...We need every bit of energy we can get."

...He doesn't know if the body will still be here by morning. He doesn't know who, how, and why someone did this...but he has to go on. Even if he feels his heart being eaten alive, even if his faith is being tested...

He has to find out who killed this innocent kid, who just wanted to bring hope to everyone's eyes...

...He had to play this game of sin with all these sinners.

He left the pool behind, and didn't look back anymore.
