Cathedral Room

A gorgeous display, with painting coating the massive walls and ceiling. There are an incredible amount of chairs, and a podium near the front. It also gives a grand echo when anyone speaks!

MX-Z0: "Don't turn over that body, dad." Mixzo says as she watches him study Tarnish's burnt figure. "You won't like how it looks."

Don: "Oh, really? Hahah," He replies, "Surely it isn't that bad-"

He lifts the corpse's face to view what is beneath...

...And immediately sets the corpse back down, a dark blue coating his face.

"Hah...ahahahah....it...was...that bad. Ah."

Stranger: "I don't see anything special about either of these guys." Stranger comments, looking at Firestarter's lifeless form. "They're...dead. But there's no strange things about them."

Don: "Oh, then...perhaps, the room is what we need to focus on?" Don suggests, beginning to instead poke at the still warm, stained ground.

Stranger: "...In what sense?"

Don: "Well...I-I don't really know, but, if an entire fire broke out here so quickly, then there had to be a way, right? That doesn't just spontaneously occur, hahah!"

Stranger: "...The floor," Stranger suddenly replies, looking at his feet. "When we came inside, the floor and walls were totally soaked in...something. It smelled bizarre..."

MX-Z0: "Gasoline, perhaps?"

Stranger: "...Might've been...but the smell was its own sort of weird. It might've been something else flammable, 'specially considering how we haven't found any place with gasoline in it either..."

Don: "Oooh, interesting..."

Don skitters off a bit, heading over to a burnt, ash-ridden corner of the cathedral. They see the remains of something orange, green, and blue...as well as what looks to be the dark marks of the blast's origin.

"Ahh...blast marks! So there was some sort of explosive, ahahah! ...But what was this other thing?"

MX-Z0: "Hm?"

Mixzo and Stranger took a look themselves, and as she stared at the remains...she remembered.

"Firestarter's flamethrower. She said someone stole it."

Stranger: "Those...are the colors of it, yeah. You can barely recognize it's blown up state, but..."

He sighs. "Guess if there was a bomb, it had to be lit somehow. But-"

He paused.

...There was a strange sort of rubble on top of the ruined flamethrower.

It was a dark, smooth grey color, and had been broken into little bits right on top of what seemed to be the activation button. He squatted down, squinting, and tilted his head.

"...The hell are these little gray things? Can't be from the ceiling, all of the walls and stuff here are yellow and bright."

Don: "...Huh. No idea why that rocky stuff is there," Don peeps. "Probably not important. Anything else around here of note...?"

MX-Z0: Her eyes scan the room...but she sees only dust and burnt seats.

"Whatever else we could've used here seems to have been burned away, if it existed....huff."

Her antennae droop down, and she lets out a strange noise.

"...It it weren't for those annoying vine traps..."

MX-Z0: ...And then, her anger changes again.

"...The vine traps. Were they...a distraction?"

Stranger: "A distraction!? You think those two things were related!?"

MX-Z0: She glares at Stranger. "A robot of my quality is built to be fire resistant, and I have no lungs to die from smoke inhalation. Combined with my card and promise to defend you all, it is possible that the killer used those traps as bait...even if they weren't bait at first."

Don: "Ahahah! You're just as observant as I remember, Mix! ...But, how crafty of them...they were even able to lead you astray!"

MX-Z0: Wordlessly, she turns around and flicks her dad on the cheek.

Don: "Ah- Oww! Sorry, ahah..."

MX-Z0: "...Anyways, we better continue looking closer. Despite my initial scan, perhaps there is still more here. It was the scene of the crime, after all."
