Yellow Hallway
Another hallway, similar to the other two. Unlike before, however, this hallway ends with nothing but a blank wall.
Stranger: "Huff- Huff-"
He can't find the words to speak, still coughing at the end of the hall with everyone else as Seven Stones begins stomping out the fire still trying to rip apart his coat. He sees the melancholy that's sweeped through the crowd; the sight of Ivan plucking burnt feathers from his plumage, Dax staring at a wall blankly, and most concerning of all...The Destroyer plopping down Arsenic's unconscious body down next to everyone else, before fading quietly.
"A...Arsenic!?"
Hitori: "Arsenic!"
Hitori's sweet voice sounds amongst it all, as they run over to her side. They put an ear to her chest...
"...She's...she's breathing...! W-Where's Firestarter!?"
Paradi: "...Tarnish..."
They're just mumbling to themselves, saying nothing else. Besides the multiple light burns on their body, they seem entirely focused on something rather hard to articulate.
MX-Z0: Just then, Mixzo and Rue burst back in.
"What happened!? What happened!?" Her robotic voice cracks, her antennae straight and stiff. "I heard something, what was it? What..."
...She sees the group. Burnt, tearful, the sound of Hitori's panicked words still in the air.
You failed to protect them, MX-Z0.
Those words ring in her mechanical mind, and her form starts to tremble.
Rue: "...Where's Tarnish?" Rue asks from behind, looking at everyone. "...Dax? Dax, where's Tarnish?"
Dax: ...They can't answer. They can't even look him in the eye.
Seven Stones: "...Alright, you prawn fuck! Get rid of the fire already! Please!" He yells, his voice rough and pained.
Although the prawn does not appear before them, the usual fanfare strangely absent, the smoke emanating from the cathedral room...it slowly teeters out. The air quickly grows clear again, the coughing of everyone present coming to a halt.
Don: ...Someone else creaks in.
"Did...uh...Did something happen?"
Stranger: "..."
He stands in front of the door to the cathedral room, and peeks through the door.
The fire's gone.
"...I'm going to go find them."
Ivan: Ivan nods, looking at everyone else.
"I'm...I'm going to go bring Arsenic somewhere else and try to wake her up, okay?"
He picks up Arsenic, struggling to carry her all that well, but perseveres as he takes his exit.
MX-Z0: As Stranger enters the cathedral once again, she stumbles over to Don...and just falls into his arms.
Don: "Oh- Ahah- ...Mix? Are you a...alright...?"
MX-Z0: "No." She whispers.
"I couldn't protect them."
